Vadodara Post Office: In order to ensure that the brother living abroad gets the rakhi on time, post offices used to have pavilions outside the post office in previous years and five to six counters were kept there to collect the post. But now those days are over now the post department is working to send rakhi and for sending rakhi abroad a separate arrangement is made inside the post office itself where the crowd gathers. Rakshabandhan is constantly watched with a watchful eye. With only a few days remaining for this holy festival, the post office system is providing facilities with a special cover so that the brother living abroad can get the rakhi at the appointed time. For this, long lines are seen at the counters to send rakhis in post offices. The festival of Raksha Bandhan will fall on Monday, 19th August, on the Poonam of the month of Shravan. The sister is constantly worried about the brother living abroad to get the rakhi on time.
But it takes at least 15 days to receive rakhi or any item sent abroad. The post office ensures that any item sent abroad is received without fail. Special Rakshabandhan Covers have been made by the Post Department to send Rakshabandhan to brother and sister on the occasion of Rakshabandhan for brother living abroad. These covers, priced at a minimum of Rs 5, have been in high demand. A special cover of Rakshabandhan is provided from the post office if the light weight rakhi is sent through the post office. Thus, the post office system indirectly wishes on this holy festival of brothers and sisters.
