Surat : So far there was a complaint of broken roads in Surat during monsoon but since last few days government and private hospitals in Surat are overflowing with patients. At such times, the Surat Municipality periodically publishes the report of the survey conducted by the Health Department and the performance of fines. But the BJP MLA of Surat is the Mun. By writing a letter to the commissioner, the poll of the municipality’s work has been opened. The MLA of Varachha Road has written a letter and said, there is a terrible epidemic in Surat, there is no space in the hospital but the municipal system is sleepless. Even though there is a terrible epidemic, the department is not working, so a letter has been written to wake up the system. As the corporators of the Surat municipality have become puppets of the BJP leader, they cannot raise their voice aggressively in the general assembly for the problems faced by the people. And opposition also opposes Surat Municipality but it remains limited to Varachha and that opposition is also weak.
MLA Kumar Kanani Mun. In the letter written to the commissioner, it has been said that an epidemic has broken out in the city of Surat. People are also dying in cases of fever like dengue and malaria. But the system is not visible anywhere in the field, no operation is done. So I think that because of this mosquito-borne or water-borne disease, people are not getting hospital space or blood donation center at present. In such a terrible situation, no activity of the health department is visible on the field, so I felt that the system is sleeping and needs to be woken up. Therefore, I have written a letter to the Municipal Commissioner. He further said that, till I realize, if there was even a single case of dengue a while back, the system would have been running. A survey was conducted in the vicinity of the case where the case was found and the system was put into operation. There was smoke around the case and an investigation was done to see where the water was filled. In addition, during the monsoon, the health team used to go door to door and survey people for fever or any other symptoms. If someone was suffering from fever, she used to report it and also gave medicine.
However, now that the monsoon has come to an end, I have not seen a single official at my house or in my society. Therefore, I think that there is such a terrible epidemic, even though the department is not working, so I have written a letter and tried to wake up the system. Due to the letter written by Kumar Kanani, the poor performance of the municipality with the epidemic situation of Surat has been exposed. Only time will tell whether the municipal system wakes up even after this letter or declares performance figures like Phir Wahi Raftar.
