Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi was once again seen in a new look. On Monday (August 19), he booked a cab and then went on a ride. Meanwhile, he had a long conversation with taxi driver Sunil Upadhyay. Talked to his family on phone. Rahul Gandhi discussed in detail about the difficulties of a taxi driver’s life. Talking to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, taxi driver Sunil Upadhyay told his problem. The Congress MP asked, ‘How many hours do you drive a taxi?’ Sunil Upadhyay said, ‘There is no time. Sometimes I drive a taxi for two days. Earlier when the price of CNG was 30 rupees. Then the car was running at this rate and today even when it has gone up to 90-95 rupees, the car is running at the same rate. CNG prices are increasing, but fares are not increasing much.’

What kind of changes are needed:
During the conversation, Rahul Gandhi asked the taxi driver, ‘What kind of changes are needed in this sector?’ Sunil Upadhyay, a taxi driver, said, “There should be a minimum wage so that drivers can earn enough to support their families after deductions.” Sunil Upadhyay told Rahul Gandhi, “At this time, all the taxi drivers in the country are facing difficulties. The situation has become such that they are not even paying the installments of the car. The situation will improve only when the rates are fixed. Such a system should be made so that companies have to pay minimum. For the last three years I have seen that there is no day when I have worked for Rs 5000.’ Rahul Gandhi also took taxi driver Sunil Upadhyay’s family to the restaurant for a meal. Meanwhile, he interacted with the children and also gave gifts. Sunil is originally from Eta in Uttar Pradesh and drives a taxi in Delhi and lives with his family.
