Pritish Nandy Communications and Netflix came together for a night of unapologetic celebration to commemorate the success of The Royals. The Pritish Nandy Communications’ production, which also served as a Netflix original series, starred Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, and emerged as one of the platform’s most-watched Indian productions of 2025. The romantic comedy drama, registered the most-viewed debut of 2025, while becoming the global top 10 shows of Netflix as well as the top spot on India’s top 10 shows in the weeks after its release, and also as the first Indian series to trend in Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English TV Shows across 58 countries, establishing itself as a cultural phenomenon that has transcended geographical boundaries.

The exclusive, glamorous evening saw show creators, the Nandy sisters Rangita and Ishita, along with their mother, Rina Pritish Nandy, join hands with Netflix’s top brass, Monica Shergill and Tanya Bami, to celebrate the massive success of The Royals. The bash was attended by the show’s ensemble cast, including Ishaan Khatter, Bhumi Pednekar, Nora Fatehi, and Sakshi Tanwar, as well as directors Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, and writer Neha Veena Sharma.

The Royals has earned widespread acclaim for its fresh narrative that blends royal Indian tradition with modern entrepreneurship, brought to life with sharp writing and compelling performances. The series maintained its trending position at #4 in India even in its 5th week and continues to draw audiences from across the globe.

The show’s success and strong viewership has led to Netflix and PNC officially announcing Season 2, showing real confidence in The Royals, a show that’s changed the game for Indian digital entertainment. The announcement of the show’s return, has generated excitement among fans who were enamored with the first season, not to mention the epic cliff-hanger that it ended at. A much deserved double celebration indeed.
