A scholarship of 1650 rupees is given to students of classes 1 to 5 and 1950 rupees to students of classes 6 to 8 studying in government primary schools. Which has to be proposed on Digital Gujarat Portal. But getting this scholarship has become a tough task like chewing iron gram.
Tough Process to Get Scholarship:
First of all, a student should have a bank account to propose a scholarship. Aadhaar card is mandatory for opening a bank account. Aadhar card comes out with great hassle after standing in line for student and parent to get Aadhaar card and after pushing and shoving. Then the banks rush to open the account, the student’s account is not opened by the bank. After many attempts, the account is opened when the student deposits 5 thousand in the bank.
The process for E-KYC is also very complicated:
Due to the slow running of the site of Digital Gujarat, there are frequent errors in it. When we do scholarship proposals early in the morning, there can be barely 10 entries in an hour. So far barely 40 percent of children have been proposed. Also, if there is no E-KYC, the proposal does not take place. The process for doing E-KYC is also very complicated. In which the teachers open the app in the PDS+ application, an OTP is sent to the student’s parent’s mobile, after generating it, Aadhaar performs KYC. The ration card number is entered after reading the instructions, then the OTP is sent to the parent’s mobile number. As many members as there are in the ration card will be shown by ticking on the name of the student whose E-KYC is pending, the OTP will be entered again to capture the photo. After that it takes time to capture the photo, after capturing the photo the student’s Aadhaar details will open and tick it and submit for approval, E-KYC is completed and the student’s scholarship proposal is submitted.
