Surat Municipality’s 78th Independence Day celebration program was held at Jahangirabad. A flag salutation program was conducted by Mayor Dakshesh Mavani. In this program, dignitaries including office-bearers, municipal commissioners took part in national flag colored balloons. Various programs were presented by the students of the municipal school. Live Fire Demonstration of Fire and Emergency Services Vehicles was done in Independence Day Celebrations in Surat. As part of Independence Day Celebrations in India’s 78th National Day, Surat Municipal Corporation Hon. The program was organized at TP Scheme No.44, Fa.Plot No.54 (Jehangirabad) under the patronage of Mayor Dakshesh Mavani. The program was preceded by a dawn procession by school students with patriotic slogans followed by flag hoisting by the Mayor. Addressing the Mayor, he said that Surat city is at the forefront of the fastest growing city in the world. Popularly known as Mini India. Surat Municipality is the first Metropolitan Municipality. Which gets an annual income of 140 crores by supplying water to industrial units through treated water. Surat Municipal Corporation is the first Municipal Corporation in Gujarat to introduce paperless budget. In this program, Emergency Rescue Vehicle, Fire Extinguisher Operating, Live Fire Demonstration, Fire Fighting Robot, Road Accident, Rope Rescue, Jumping Cushion, Hydraulic Platform Operated for Escape Chute, Lift using Turn Table Ladder by Fire and Emergency Services Department of Surat Municipal Corporation. Tricolor using flag hoisting and water monitor jet, spray display, different types of branch-display, revolving branch, peacock pattern branch, coal stack branch, triple purpose branch, hand control branch-fast action branch, rapid action branch, foam branch-10 Demonstrations and exhibitions of making and bullets are held. A large number of people were informed through stalls at the exhibition venue. A large number of people participated in this program including school college students, social and voluntary organizations, Surat Municipal Corporation officials, employees and other dignitaries.
