Big tragedy in UP, 7 houses collapsed due to falling high tension wire, commotion as 38 people got burnt

A major tragedy has occurred in Uttar Pradesh. In Kannauj’s Gursahayganj, seven houses were engulfed after the high tension wire passing over the house snapped after rain. 38 people present in the house were electrocuted. Electrical appliances in the houses have also been burnt. After reporting to the sub center, the power supply was stopped and half a dozen people were shifted to a private hospital for treatment. Two to three people have been referred as their condition is critical. Kotwali police reached the spot as soon as the incident was informed.

Tragedy across the region due to tragedy:
At 7:00 pm on Wednesday, a wire of a high tension line snapped and fell on the roof of a house in Gursahaiganj. Children, women and men of the families of Nanhe Ali, Abdul Ghaffar, Haseeb and Mohammad Nayab etc. have been caught in the current. All were unconscious due to electric shock. As the condition of many people was critical, they were taken to a private hospital for treatment. This accident has caused a commotion in the entire area. After informing the sub center the supply was stopped. Appliances like refrigerator, cooler, inverter etc. were burnt. There was resentment among the people towards the power department regarding the incident.

Brajesh Kumar Saroj, SDO of Gursahaiganj, said that high tension wires fell on the roofs of the houses due to faults caused by rain. The power line has already passed and people have since built houses under it. Due to which the high tension wire has fallen on the roof of the houses. Executive Engineer R.K. Bharti said that although the power line is old, people have built their houses under the line. SDO will be discussed for detailed information regarding the incident and necessary action will be taken after getting the matter investigated.
