Dakor : While the 5251 birth festival of Shri Krishna is being celebrated in traditional manner across Gujarat, lakhs of pilgrims have gone to see Lord Shri Krishna at Shamlaji, Dakor, Dwarka. On the other hand, with the countdown to Krishna Janmamotsav in mind, the system has planned to provide proper facilities as well as safety to the lakhs of pilgrims coming from all over the country to have darshan of Kaliya Thakar. Dwarka, Shamlaji and Dakor temples in the state are decorated with colorful lights on Janmashtami festival. During Shri Krishna Janmotsav, the Lord is decorated with conch, chakra, mace, padma, gold garlands along with gold vest at Shamlaji. In which along with the unique decoration of hirajdit crown, the decoration of Wagah has been made by special artisans. At Dakor, Rajadhiraj’s early morning darshan at 4:45 am, the entire temple premises echoed with devotees chanting ‘Jai Ranchhod Makkar Chor’. On the other hand, pilgrims thronged to have darshan of Lord Krishna amid heavy rain across the state. In the meantime, people were seen fighting to eat the gota of Dakor.
