Why did this issue arise? :
The issue of who should get the right to pension among the wives or parents of martyred soldiers is currently under discussion. In the last few years, there have been complaints from the families of the martyrs that the parents become destitute after the wife gets many facilities including the martyr’s pension. Apart from this, in many cases there have also been cases of indecency with the wives, complaints of being thrown out of the house or forcing them to remarry within the house. In this case there is a need for financial support in addition to emotional support for the parent or spouse who is already facing endless pain. It is for this reason that the issue has gained public attention in recent times.
