Violence has once again erupted in Manipur’s Jiribam district. Five people have been killed in indiscriminate firing between Kuki and Maitei groups. The suspects set fire to a house. According to the information received from the sources, indiscriminate firing is going on at the scene. Earlier on Friday night, suspected extremists attacked former Chief Minister Merambam Koireng’s house with a rocket. In this incident, an old man died and six people were injured. A few days ago, three people were injured in another drone bomb attack in Manipur’s Senjam Chirang. Manipur Police gave this information in a statement. He also said that security forces are deployed in the area. The latest attack comes a day after the bombardment of Kautruk village in Imphal West district by several drones launched by ‘suspected kooky insurgents’.
