Construction of metro station near Muskati Hospital started in March-2023. Due to the closure of this road, the shops and businesses in this area have come to a standstill, causing public outrage. Due to this, these traders protested at the tower today and demanded to open the road or give compensation. Ever since the metro operation started in the city of Surat, one disaster after another has been happening for the people of Surat. Accidents are happening one after the other in the operation of metro and due to this many questions are being raised against the operation of metro. Apart from this, the slow and poor functioning of the metro is making the traders feel uneasy. Before the controversy arose that several roads have become dilapidated due to the operation of the metro, now the condition of the affected traders of the metro is getting worse. Construction of metro station near Muskati Hospital for metro passing through Kot area of ​​Surat started in March-2023. At the same time, the road from Muskati Hospital to Mahidharpura Post Office has been closed, and the business of the shops in this area has come to a standstill. Apart from this, the condition of traders in the surrounding area has become dire. Earlier compensation was given, now compensation is not being given and traders are alleging that employment has stopped.

The traders of this area have presented to solve their problem but the problem has not been solved. Controversy has arisen over the issue of compound wall and compensation since the introduction. According to local traders, a 10-month MoU was signed with the traders before the metro operation near Muskati Hospital started and compensation was assured. After that, another 9 months MoU was made as the work was not completed. After 19 months, there was talk of building a compound wall i.e. D-wall on all four sides. However, now a compound wall has been built only on the side of the tower. In addition, instead of opening the entire road, the metro has opened only a three-meter road. Due to which even customers cannot come and compensation has also been prohibited. In such a situation, the businesses of the traders have become dead, as the pleas of the traders are not being heard, the traders protested today. Traders gathered at the tower said that Metro has betrayed us. They talked about opening the road in 10 months, but even after 19 months, the road has not been opened. Due to which even the 80-90 years old generations are now closed. The traders demanded that the Metro open the road or give compensation till the road is opened. Due to the poor functioning of the metro, there is a lot of anger among the people and now the traders are also frustrated and protesting.
