There was quite an uproar in the Turkish Parliament on Friday. Clashes also broke out between ruling party and opposition MPs in Parliament. Video footage shows ruling AKP party MP Ahmet Sik rushing to punch the lecture and dozens of others joining in the fray. According to the information, an internal dispute between the authorities and the opposition started during a heated debate on an opposition MP imprisoned in jail. Sik, an opposition MP who called the ruling party a terrorist organisation, was punched by one of the AKP MPs. With this, dozens of MPs started fighting. Some tried to stop others. A woman MP was injured in this fight. It also found blood spatter on the white stairs of the speaker’s dais. Another opposition member is reported to be injured.

Atale serving sentence in Jail:

Atale was sentenced to 18 years in 2022 for allegedly trying to overthrow the government by organizing the nationwide Gizi Park protests in 2013. Atale was elected to parliament to represent the Workers’ Party of Turkey (TIP) in May last year. The parliament disqualified Atale. Turkey’s Constitutional Court declared his ouster invalid on August 1. After the controversy, the Deputy Speaker adjourned the Parliament. After this incident, the ruling party and the opposition have accused each other.
