Rain In India: It is raining heavily in many parts of the country. In Gujarat, life has been disrupted due to incessant rains in some areas for more than 48 hours. West Rajasthan is also receiving heavy rains. Apart from this, heavy rains are occurring in Mumbai and Goa along with western and central Maharashtra. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning that heavy to very heavy rains will continue in many states of the country. A woman and her two children were swept away in a flash flood in a stream due to cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban. In Gujarat, the population of many districts has been affected due to flood-like conditions. Three people have died in rain-related accidents in the state. Khergam taluk of Navsari recorded the highest rainfall of 356 mm in 24 hours. Due to rising water level, 23 out of 30 gates of Sardar Sarovar Dam had to be opened. 3.95 lakh cusecs of water has been released in Narmada river. In view of the risk of flooding, 280 people were evacuated from the low-lying areas of Bharuch. A tractor trolley was washed away while crossing a flood-hit river channel in Morbi, in which 10 people have been rescued, but seven people are still missing. So far, 17,800 people stranded in flood-affected areas in the state have been shifted to safer places. Primary schools were closed in the state. Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on phone and assured all possible help from the Centre. The situation has worsened due to heavy rains and floods in many parts of the country, especially in the central and western regions. Due to the rains in Gujarat for the last two days, there is a flood-like situation in many districts including Ahmedabad. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rains and flash floods in Gujarat as well as Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Goa and Maharashtra for the next two-three days. Apart from this, there has been damage due to heavy rains in North East as well. The flood situation in Tripura is critical. The state government has appealed to the Center for help. Heavy rain is likely in the next two days, in which case the situation may worsen. River Gomti is flowing above the danger mark. 70,000 people live in 471 relief camps in the state. Delhi-NCR received intermittent rain on Monday. Due to which people got relief from heat. Also the atmosphere had become pleasant. However, the pedestrians had to face difficulties due to the waterlogging of the roads at some places. So 41 roads in Himachal are closed due to rain and landslides. 211 power projects have also stalled. It was opened for traffic on Monday after 26 days through Gaurikund. A 19 km long road was damaged due to a landslide on July 31. As many as 11,000 pilgrims were stranded on the road due to road closures, who were gradually evacuated to safety.
