What did the IMD say? :
The Indian Meteorological Department said that the cyclonic storm is likely to approach Puducherry by Saturday afternoon. During this, the wind speed may be 90 kmph. District Magistrate A. Kulothungan discussed and reviewed the situation with officials of PWD, local administration, police and other departments. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Cyclone Fangal is currently intensifying in the Bay of Bengal. Due to which it was predicted on Friday that there will be heavy rain with strong winds in the next 48 hours. Flood warnings were also issued for coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh. Puducherry Home Minister A. Namasivayam has declared a holiday for all schools here for the next two days.
