The government is now bringing strict rules for officers and employees who go on long leave in government jobs in Gujarat and perform abroad. Shocked by the cases of people going abroad for jobs, first in the education and now in the health department, the government has decided to review the old rules for going abroad. The government departments that decide the leave criteria of the employees have been alerted and instructed to change the rules. After a number of cases of primary and secondary teachers settling abroad came to light in the education department of the state, it has been noticed that such Laliyawadi is also going on in the health department. Cases of district panchayat-owned health workers going abroad on long leave have been seen in some areas of North Gujarat. Notices have been issued in case some employees are staying abroad for a long period of time on ongoing employment. Such activity was going on in the state education department for the last few years. But the department has come to know about it later. Sources in the secretariat said that not only education and health, but all government departments and board-corporation office employees have been ordered to investigate the reasons for leave. It has been asked to make a report of how many days or months the employee is absent in that department. It has also been instructed to investigate the cases of employees who have gone on long leave or going abroad and take notice, dismissal and punitive action against those responsible.
