Prime Minister Narendra Modi today while unveiling tickets and coins on the occasion of 75 years of establishment of the Supreme Court of India said that celebrating 75 years of the Supreme Court is not a journey of any one institution but a journey of the Constitution of India and its constitutional values. The people of India have never lost faith in the Supreme Court, our judiciary, so these 75 years of the Supreme Court have further enhanced the pride of Mother of Democracy India. As the country is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Constitution, there is pride and inspiration in this occasion as well. PM Modi further said that the Supreme Court had maintained national unity on fundamental rights and issues of national interest during the dark days of Emergency. In the twilight of independence, 140 countrymen have only one dream – a developed India, a new India. New India means a modern India with thought and resolve. Our judiciary is a strong pillar of this vision.

Prime Minister praised the Judiciary:

Prime Minister Modi said that in our democracy the judiciary is considered as the protector of the constitution. That in itself is a big responsibility. We can say with satisfaction that our Supreme Court, our Judiciary has discharged this responsibility very well. After independence, the judiciary safeguarded the spirit of justice. When the question of the security of the country arose, the judiciary kept the national interest paramount and protected the unity of India.
