Ahmedabad : Frogs may or may not be seen after rain in Ahmedabad, but potholes are definitely seen on the road. During the monsoon, 19626 potholes have fallen in the roads of Ahmedabad. Apart from this, even though more than 72 hours have passed since 10 inches of rain fell in Ahmedabad, the problem of waterlogging in many areas also remains. Thus, the pre-monsoon plan of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has once again fallen into the water. According to the information received from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, the highest number of 5297 incidents of potholes or road subsidence occurred in the East Zone. South zone is second with 4388, North West zone is third with 3150, North zone is fourth with 2228. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation claims that 19228 roads have been repaired out of these 19626, while 398 roads are still under construction. Out of 19228 roads, 12218 are being repaired with wetmix, 5999 with coldmix, 515 with jetpatch, 365 with hotmix, while 131 are being repaired with infrared technology. However, whether this repair has actually taken place and if it has, how long it will last is also a big question. The help of 308 workers, 36 tractors, 110 small elephants has been taken for repairing the road. Thus, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation spends twice as much on the pre-monsoon plan first and after it fails during the monsoon itself. According to the informants, there are potholes in Ahmedabad, according to the informants. There are potholes on the way to Ahmedabad airport. Because of this, it is understandable how a person coming from outside Ahmedabad will get an impression about the city’s ‘development’. Apart from this, people have cried trahimam due to potholes in Shela, South Bhopal, Gota, Satellite, Paldi, Maninagar. There has also been an increase in the problem of patients with low back pain due to pitting. Dirt, broken roads and epidemics are the biggest challenges for the government after the incessant cloudburst in Gujarat. The government has rushed the teams of the health department to prevent the spread of a major epidemic in the flood-affected areas. There is fear of spreading dirt where the rain water has accumulated. Meanwhile, due to heavy rains, the damage to roads and bridges in the state is estimated to be Rs. 5000 crores.
