Prime Minister Narendra Modi has canceled his visit to Pune due to heavy rains in Maharashtra. Heavy rains are causing havoc in many cities of Maharashtra. Public life has come to a standstill due to water-bombing conditions on the roads. Prime Minister Modi was to visit this state on Thursday. He started the Pune Metro train with Rs. 22600 crores of various schemes were to be laid. However, this decision had to be taken due to heavy rains.
Schools and colleges closed :
It has been decided to close schools and colleges in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad due to extremely heavy rains. The Mumbai Police has appealed to people to be vigilant and take the alert issued by the Meteorological Department seriously. Railway services have also been affected. IMD has issued orange alert for Pune district. Citizens have been advised not to step out of their homes without reason and to be vigilant. Under the PM Modi National Supercomputing Mission indigenously developed Rs. Three Param Rudra supercomputers were to be launched at a cost of 130 crores. These supercomputers have been deployed in Pune, Delhi and Kolkata to facilitate leading scientific research. A high performance computing system with facilities for weather and climate research was also to be inaugurated. Notably, behind this project Rs. 850 crore has been invested. Prime Minister Modi in petroleum and natural gas sector Rs. Various initiatives were also to be started at a cost of 10400 crores. The initiative focuses on energy, infrastructure, convenience and safety of truck and cab drivers, clean energy and a sustainable future.
