Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (September 12) met the athletes participating in the Paris Paralympics at his residence. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi congratulated the athletes for their excellent performance in sports. India has won a total of 29 medals including seven gold, nine silver and 13 bronze medals at the Paris Paralympic Games.

Prime Minister meets athletes participating in Paris Paralympics:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the athletes participating in the Paris Paralympics at his residence and congratulated them for their excellent performance. India has won a total of 29 medals at the Paris Paralympic Games. In a video shared by the Sports Ministry, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seen congratulating the medal winners before speaking to them. Meanwhile, the players gifted special items to the Prime Minister. Paralympic gold medalist Avni Lekhara presented a signed Indian jersey to Prime Minister Modi.

The Prime Minister took a photo with the players:

Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Indian Paralympic Committee chief Devendra Jhazaria were also present during the interaction with the athletes participating in the Paris Paralympics. The Prime Minister posed for a photo with other athletes, including Avni Lekha and Kapil Parmar, who won gold medals in the women’s 10m air rifle (SH1). Meanwhile, Parmar also took the Prime Minister’s signature on his medal. India’s 84-member contingent participated in the Paris Games, bettering the 19 medals it achieved in the Tokyo Games three years ago. In which India has won a gold medal in archery for the first time, apart from winning a medal in track competition for the first time. India has thus won a total of 29 medals including seven gold, nine silver and 13 bronze medals at the Paris Paralympic Games.
