Vadodara: While torrential rains are lashing most parts of the state, many parts of Saurashtra, including South, Central, North Gujarat, have been flooded due to heavy to heavy rains and flood-like conditions have developed in some areas. While the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rain till August 31, Vadodara city received 10 inches of rain from early morning to 4 pm. At present, the vishwamitri level has been recorded at 28 feet at Kalaghoda Bridge at 5:00 pm, due to which the system has initiated evacuation of people living in low-lying areas to safer places.
