Recently the government of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh has announced to provide medical education in Hindi language in addition to English in the state colleges. The announcement was made during the celebration of ‘Hindi Diwas’ on September 14. Rajasthan government is going to introduce MBBS in Hindi in a phased manner. The first two medical colleges in the state will adopt this change from the academic session 2024-2025. These colleges are ‘Sampurnanand Medical College’ of Jodhpur and ‘Barmer Medical College’ affiliated under Marwar Medical University. Principal Secretary of Rajasthan Medical Education Department Gayatri Rathore said, ‘Doing MBBS in Hindi will be optional for students.’The introduction of medical education in Hindi was part of the state budget, he said. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai also announced on Saturday. said that, from the current academic session, the MBBS course will be offered in Hindi in Chhattisgarh. We are happy to implement the vision expressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally in Uttar Pradesh in 2022. Madhya Pradesh was the first state to take the initiative in this direction. In October 2022, the first year MBBS course in Hindi was launched in medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. After that Bihar, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh also announced to offer MBBS course in Hindi. With the announcement of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, students will now get such facility in a total of six states of the country. All these states are ruled by BJP.
