West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has called the junior doctors of RG Kar Hospital and Medical College for a discussion today at 5:00 pm. The conversation between CM and students will be held at Mamata Banerjee’s residence. West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant has written a letter inviting junior doctors to interact at CM Awas. In a letter addressed to the junior doctors, Manoj Pant has said that it is our duty as law abiding citizens to follow the directions of the Supreme Court keeping in mind the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court dated September 9, 2024. This is the fifth and last time we are contacting you for a meeting between the Hon’ble Chief Minister and your representatives. Following our earlier discussion, we are once again inviting you for an open-minded conversation with the Chief Minister at his residence in Kalighat. The letter further said that we believe that as per mutual consent and as per your statement to the media a day ago, any live streaming or videography of the meeting Will not happen. Because this matter is under consideration in the Supreme Court of the country. In return, the minutes of the meeting will be recorded and signed by both parties. West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant said in the last part of the letter that the meeting has been fixed today i.e. 16 September 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Chief Minister’s residence in Kalighat. The delegations who came for earlier discussion are requested to reach the venue by 4:45 PM today. We look forward to your positive response and meaningful discussion. Let us tell you that there is outrage among junior doctors regarding the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata. The doctors have been protesting for the last 33 days. He is performing with his five demands.
