Delhi: After getting bail to AAP leader Manish Sisodia after 19 months in the alleged liquor scam in Delhi, now another accused Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader Kavita has been granted bail by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has granted bail subject to certain conditions on a surety bond of Rs 10 lakh. Kavita’s passport has been confiscated. Also directed not to tamper with the evidence. Justice B.R. Gavai and Justice K.V. Viswanathan’s bench, while granting bail, clarified that no comment was made on the merits. So there will be no impact on the trial. Kavita was in jail for about 5 months. The ED and CBI have also identified the role of Kavita on behalf of Sisodia and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as important in the alleged liquor scam. Opposing the bail plea, the investigating agencies argued before the Supreme Court that BRS leader Kavita had formatted the mobile phone and tampered with the evidence. When Kavita said that the allegation of formatting the mobile phone is false. The Supreme Court has questioned the investigating agencies, what evidence do you have that BRS leader Kavita is involved in this crime. Mukul Rohatgi, senior lawyer for Kavita, appealed for bail and said that both the agencies have completed the investigation against Kavita. In both the cases, the accused and AAP leader Manish Sisodia was given the charge of granting bail to the Supreme Court.
