Kannada film industry to make women safety plan, 15-day ultimatum from Karnataka Mahila Aayog

The controversy of sexual harassment in the Kannada film industry is continuously increasing. Then another update has come up, in which the Karnataka Women’s Commission is preparing to take an important step. The Hema Committee report on the status of women and actresses in Malayalam cinema has been much debated for some time now. Now the Karnataka Mahila Aayog organized a meeting with the Kannada Film Chamber to tackle sexual exploitation and other abuses in Kannada cinema.

Although the Kannada Film Chamber did not want to form a committee for issues like sexual harassment, the Karnataka State Women’s Commission has questioned why it is not possible to take any action or form a committee on the issue. The Karnataka Mahila Aayog argued that the issue of sexual harassment of women in the Kannada film industry is huge. This evil is very deep and a secret survey is also being prepared to know it.
