Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) has issued a notice on noise pollution caused by ringing temple bells in societies in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. A copy of this notice has gone viral on social media. People are showing great displeasure in this matter. According to reports, a resident of Gaur Soundaryam Society in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida complained to the Pollution Control Board that the ringing bells in the society’s temple caused a lot of noise pollution. UPPCB has issued a notice to the society in this matter. Mudit Bansal, who lives in the society, filed a complaint through e-mail to UPPCB on 30th July. Then on August 5, the Pollution Control Board inspected the noise pollution caused by the ringing of bells in the temple. During the investigation, a sound of 70 decibels was detected from the temple bell. According to the notice issued to the society, compliance with the provisions of the Noise Pollution Rules, 2000 should be ensured so that people do not face problems due to the noise of the bells. A reply has also been sought from the society on the notice. This notice is constantly going viral on social media, on which people are expressing their displeasure. People say that Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board is failing to control pollution. Instead of pollution they are giving notice on the temple bell which is wrong. Temple bells do not cause noise pollution. Other residents of the society have demanded withdrawal of this action.
