As a result of Meghraja’s meher in the state, most of the taluks have received significant rain in the last two days. High alert has been declared as 76 reservoirs are full i.e. 100 percent while 46 reservoirs-dams are between 70 to 100 percent full as part of this universal rain. Apart from this, 23 dams of the state have been alerted when they are 50 percent to 70 percent full. While 30 dams are between 25 and 50 percent full and 31 dams are less than 25 percent full. Currently, 2,90,547 mcft are available in Jivadori Samana Sardar Sarovar Yojana of Gujarat. That is, 87 percent of the total storage capacity has been recorded. While apart from this, 4,07,440 mcft in other 206 reservoirs of the state. That is, 72.73 percent of the total storage capacity has been recorded. Thus more than 78 percent water storage has taken place in total 207 reservoirs. According to a report at 8.00 am today, 3.85 lakh cusecs of water is being released against the revenue of 3.38 lakh cusecs in the highest Sardar Sarovar scheme as a result of heavy rains in the state. While in Vanakbori reservoir there is an outflow of 2.87 lakh cusecs of water against an income of 2.87 lakh cusecs of water, an outflow of 2.46 lakhs against an income of 2.47 lakh cusecs of water in Ukai, an outflow of 1.63 lakhs against an income of 1.63 lakh cusecs of water in Aji-4, an outflow of 1.25 lakhs against an income of 1.50 lakh cusecs of water in Kadana and also 1 recorded an outflow of 1.19 lakh cusecs of water against an inflow of 1.19 lakh cusecs. Apart from this, various 94 reservoirs are receiving water from 70 thousand cusec to 1,000 thousand cusec.
Status of water bodies in the state :
Apart from this, 87 percent of water has been stored in 17 reservoirs of Central Gujarat, 78 percent in 13 of South Gujarat, 66 percent in 141 of Saurashtra, 61 percent in 20 reservoirs of Kutch while more than 39 percent in 15 reservoirs of North Gujarat. So far more than 78 percent of water has been stored in 207 reservoirs along with Sardar Sarovar. At this time last year, more than 76 percent water storage was recorded in these 207 reservoirs.
