The government may soon give a big gift to firemen who are preparing to join the army. According to the information received, the retention period of firemen in the army may be extended after a period of 4 years. As per the current rules, 25% of fire fighters are retained in service. However, nothing has been officially said about this. Apart from this, there may be many changes in the Agneepath scheme. The government had announced Agneepath Yojana in the year 2022. According to a report, the government is planning to make some changes in the Agneepath scheme. Under this, now more fire fighters will be retained in the army. Apart from this their pay and allowances may also be changed. However, the Ministry of Defense has not yet issued an official statement. That being said, changes may be made to optimize the benefits and arrangements of the scheme.
In the report, the senior officials of the Ministry of Defense said that the discussion is going on regarding the period of retention of firemen in the service. After that, more fire fighters who have completed four years of service will be part of the army. Currently this figure is 25%. According to military experts, the retention period of 25% is not sufficient. A source said the number to retain a quarter figure is too low to maintain ground fighting strength. He said that the army has recommended that the number of firemen retained in service after four years should be increased to 50%. It is reported that the army has handed over its recommendations to the government in this regard. An internal survey was also conducted in this regard. However, top defense officials say the process may take some time. The government had announced Agneepath Yojana in the year 2022. Under this scheme, Agniveer was to be appointed to all three military services (water, land and air) for four years. 25% of the total commissioned firemen in a year got permanent commission.
