In Himachal Pradesh once again the aura has burst. A 30-meter long road has been completely washed away by the eruption in Rampur of Shimla. The administration has issued a rain alert in the entire area. Shimla DC Anupam Kashyap and SP Sanjeev Gandhi have visited the incident site. The full details of the damage are yet to emerge. On the other hand, flood yellow alert has been declared in four districts of Shimla, Chamba Kangra and Sirmaur on Saturday. However, heavy rain fell only in the capital Shimla on Friday amid yellow alert. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for light to moderate rains till August 20. Since the onset of monsoon on June 27 till August 3, Himachal Pradesh has suffered a loss of Rs 662 crore. According to the State Emergency Operations Center, 79 people have died in rain-related incidents. The death toll from the flash floods that erupted in three districts of Himachal Pradesh on July 31 has risen to 32. Officials said that at least 23 people are still missing in flash floods in Nirmand, Sainj and Malana in Kullu, Mandi, Padhar and Rampur in Shimla. Shimla SP Sanjiv Kumar Gandhi said that four dead bodies have been recovered from the bank of Sunni Dam and Satluj river around Rampur. Around 14 people are still missing in the district. He said that one body was recovered from the incident site on Friday while three bodies have been recovered in the last six days. Of the 19 bodies recovered from Rampur, 11 bodies have been identified through DNA. The SP said that 9 dead bodies were recovered from Rajbhan village of Mandi and four dead bodies were recovered from Nirmand/Bagipul of Kullu.
