By-elections for two Rajya Sabha seats will be held on September 3. The Election Commission has announced the program for the voting on these 12 seats of 9 states on Wednesday. As soon as the election dates are announced, now the political parties have started preparing the winning formula. Only time will tell who will win these seats but this time around 10 out of these 12 seats are being said to be a close contest. However, in some seats, the Congress and in some seats, the BJP is getting a big win. Let’s know how the math of Rajya Sabha will change after this election.

Where are these seats vacant:
2 Rajya Sabha seats are vacant in Maharashtra, 2 seats in Bihar, 2 seats in Assam, 1 in Tripura, 1 in Haryana, 1 in Rajasthan and 1 in Madhya Pradesh, 1 in Odisha and 1 in Telangana.

Why are these seats vacant?
Out of these 12 vacant seats, 10 seats have been filled after the upper house members won the Lok Sabha elections while one Rajya Sabha member each from Telangana and Odisha resigned from their party to join another party and thus also resigned from the Rajya Sabha.

What was the situation before in these 12 meetings? :
If we talk about earlier in these 12 seats then BJP was leading. It had 7 Rajya Sabha MPs. BJP was in possession of both seats in Maharashtra. In Bihar, BJP held one seat and RJD held one seat. BJP won both the seats in Assam. BJP won one seat in Madhya Pradesh, BJP won one seat in Tripura, Congress won one seat in Haryana and Congress won one seat in Rajasthan. Apart from this, currently in Telangana K. Keshav left the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and joined the Congress. So he resigned. While in Odisha, Biju Janata Dal MP Mamat Mohanta left the Rajya Sabha seat after joining the BJP.

BJP strong in Madhya Pradesh and Tripura:
A political expert said that whether it is Lok Sabha elections or assembly elections, but the way BJP has performed in Madhya Pradesh so far, it is clear that here too, BJP will register a one-sided victory and win one seat again. Apart from this, BJP is also seen in a strong position in Tripura.

Talk of one-sided confrontation in Assam too:
According to political experts, BJP is looking very strong in Assam too. Apart from this, last time also he was in possession of both the seats. In such a situation, experts are saying that even this time BJP can register victory in both seats of Assam.

BJP leads in Rajasthan:
Rajya Sabha by-election will be held on one seat of Rajasthan. BJP’s position is being stated to be strong on this meeting. Experts say that the BJP can once again register a victory here, given the way the party has performed in Rajasthan, first in the assembly elections and then in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Thorn clash in Maharashtra and Bihar:
If we talk about Maharashtra and Bihar, we can see a clash of thorns here. Last time, RJD won one seat and BJP won one seat in Bihar. This time too, there may be a bump here. Because, the opposition party also has enough seats.
