Maharashtra Chief Minister announced Diwali bonus before announcing election dates
Minutes before the announcement of elections, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced Diwali bonuses for lower level government employees. It has been announced to give a bonus of 29 thousand rupees to BMC employees. Which is three thousand more than last year. Kindergarten teachers and Asha workers will also get bonuses.
There will be an election atmosphere in both the states
The political atmosphere of Maharashtra and Jharkhand has heated up. If we talk about Maharashtra, there is currently a Shiv Sena-led government of Eknath Shinde, who formed the government in the state by joining hands with the BJP in a revolt against the old Shiv Sena. Ajit faction of NCP is also included in this government. In this election, it will be interesting to see if the voters of Maharashtra put faith in the current government or Shiv Sena (Uddhav group), NCP (Sharad group) and Congress get a chance to form the government.
A total of 288 seats in Maharashtra and a total of 81 seats in Jharkhand
Voting is to be held to elect 288 members of the Legislative Assembly in Maharashtra. The last assembly elections in the state were held in October 2019. When talking about Jharkhand, assembly elections are to be held on all 81 seats of the state. The tenure of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly is ending on 5th January 2025. The last assembly elections in the state were held in December 2019.
The date of the by-election is also likely to be announced
Apart from the two assembly elections, the Election Commission can also announce by-elections to three Lok Sabha and at least 47 assembly seats, which have fallen vacant due to various reasons. The three vacant Lok Sabha seats include Wayanad in Kerala, Nanded in Maharashtra and Basirhat in West Bengal. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi won from Wayanad and Rae Bareli seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Gandhi vacated the Wayanad seat and retained the Rae Bareli seat.
