Gandhinagar : The rules for occasional gifts received by the Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of State or high officials have been changed after 10 years, according to which these dignitaries cannot keep gifts of more than five thousand, if they are to be received. The increased cost will have to be paid by the government. If the items are received from abroad, they can keep it within the limit of 10 thousand, if the price increases, the amount will have to be paid to the government. Similarly, gifts up to 10,000 rupees received during foreign travel can be kept by the dignitary, but if the value exceeds the amount, the difference must be paid, otherwise the gifts will have to be deposited in the state treasury. The state finance department has changed the Toshakhana rules after a long time. In an order issued by the deputy secretary of the finance department, Bhavita Rathore, it is said that 10 years ago there was a rule that ministers or officials could take home gifts worth Rs. 5000 has been done. Similarly, the limit of foreign goods has been increased from five thousand to 10 thousand. If the gift is within this limit, the recipient can keep it, otherwise it is deposited in the Toshakhana and auctioned.
