Rajkot: In Surendranagar today, ACB set up two traps in a single day and arrested a total of three persons including a clerk of the Mines and Minerals Department besides the Circle Officer of Chotila Mamlatdar office. Both these traps were set by ACB’s Rajkot and Bhavnagar units. According to ACB sources, the relative of the complainant had purchased the land of Navagam Survey No. 6 through the sale deed. The circle officer of Chotila Mamlatdar office, Jignosh Haribhai Patdia, demanded a bribe of Rs.1 lakh in exchange for getting the land registered in village sample no.6. It was decided to take Rs.40 thousand at the end of Rakzak. But since the complainant did not want to pay bribe, he complained on ACB’s toll free number. Based on which the PI R of Bhavnagar unit of ACB. D. Sagar set a trap and caught the accused Jignoshbhai from his own chamber under the guise of taking a bribe of Rs.40 thousand. In another case, Naka Clerk Sajid Khan Ahmed Khan Pathan (A.D. 55) and Security Guard Girish Hirabhai Jhala (A.D. 47) of Surendranagar’s Mines and Minerals Department were today fined Rs. After taking a bribe of 1000, the investigation has been carried forward.

According to ACB sources, three dumpers of the complainant are plying in Surendranagar district for transporting minerals.
