Chennai rains for second consecutive day, schools and colleges closed, water enters Rajinikanth’s house

Red alert for the next two days as well

The IMD has issued a red alert for many parts of the state on October 17 and 18 and has warned of heavy rainfall. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister have reviewed the situation. Regarding the rainfall situation, Udayanidhi Stalin said on Tuesday, “In the last 24 hours, Chennai has recorded an average rainfall of around 5cm. The situation is largely under control. The heaviest rainfall is in Sholinganallur and Teinampet. Around 6cm of rain has been recorded in Teinampet. There is no power cut in any part of Chennai. .

Water only water in more than 300 areas

More than eight trees fell due to heavy rain. 26 teams of NDRF and SDRF have been deployed in Chennai and all coastal areas. Two of Chennai’s 22 subways have been flooded and traffic has been disrupted.

Holiday declared in schools and colleges

The Tamil Nadu government has declared a public holiday in schools and colleges in four districts including Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu to avoid a critical security situation due to heavy rains. Private offices have also been appealed to employees to work from home or at least invite people to the office. Essential services including police, fire brigade, municipal administration and transportation of essential commodities will remain functional.

Water entered Rajinikanth’s bungalow

Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Chennai. Superstar Rajinikanth’s bungalow has also been flooded. The work of draining water from the area around Rajinikanth’s house is going on. Their staff are working very cautiously at this time and trying to ensure that the damage caused by the flood is minimal. All necessary measures are being taken keeping in mind the security of Superstar Rajinikanth’s house.
