Rains and landslides have caused trouble in Uttarakhand. Nandprayag Sekot Kothialsen Road, an alternative route to Badrinath Highway in Chamoli, has been closed due to landslides. While Yamunotri, Badrinath highway is also closed. At that time, 40 devotees of Banaskantha Palanpur, who had set out on a pilgrimage to Chardham, also got stuck on the Yamunotri route. Landslides on this road have blocked the road with large rocks falling on the road. On the other hand, the road has been closed for 12 hours as two big pine trees have fallen on the Tharali Dewal Motorway near Tharali Chepdo due to a landslide. Attempts were made to remove it with the help of JCB but failed. While Badrinath Highway is closed in Chatwapipal near Karnaprayag. Many devotees are trapped here. The Yamunotri highway has been blocked by boulders, due to which devotees as well as locals are waiting for the highway to open. The closure of the Yamunotri highway near Radi has cut off communication with the district headquarters of the Yamuna Valley. Landslides occurred at several places on the Badrinath National Highway on Saturday due to heavy rain, blocking the roads in Lambagad, Nandprayag, Sonal and Bairaj Kunj. An alternative route between Sakot and Nandprayag has also been closed due to landslides. Chamoli Police said that due to heavy rains in the district, landslides have been witnessed everywhere on the Badrinath National Highway, so many roads have been blocked. Chamoli Police is working to move the devotees to a safe place for security. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in several districts of Uttarakhand, while an orange alert has also been issued in many areas. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed SDRF teams and district officials to be on high alert due to heavy rains in various places of Uttarakhand.
