The Supreme Court has once again dealt a major blow to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is caught in the liquor policy case. After hearing Kejriwal’s bail application, the Supreme Court has fixed August 23 for the next hearing in this matter. The Supreme Court judge said that we want to hear the other side in this matter and only after that a decision will be taken. It may be mentioned that Independence Day is going to be celebrated across the country tomorrow and before this Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Arvind Kejriwal had hoped that they too would be granted bail by the Supreme Court like Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh. But it didn’t happen and their hopes were dashed. It is to be mentioned that earlier the Supreme Court had already granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal in the ED case but due to the case filed by the CBI, it was his turn to stay in jail again. Kejriwal is accused of running a scam in the alleged liquor policy. He was considered the mastermind of the alleged scam by CBI and ED.

The Supreme Court did not accept Sisodia’s arguments:

The Supreme Court had refused to grant interim bail. Sisodia’s arguments were made in favor of Kejriwal in the court which was not accepted by the Supreme Court. Kejriwal’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi told the court that bail orders have been given 3 times in favor of our client. It also includes the Section 45 case. The Supreme Court did not agree with all such arguments.
