A 55-year-old doctor was shot dead in a private hospital in Delhi’s Jetpur. According to Neema Hospital staff, two teenagers reached the hospital late at night. One of them asked to change the dressing of his injured toe. The teenager was treated at the hospital the following night. After dressing, the teenagers said, ‘I need a prescription and Dr. Unani medicine doctor. To meet Javed Akhtar.
Both the shooters were minors:
A few minutes later, the nursing staff heard a gunshot. They reached the doctor’s cabin and found that the doctor had been shot in the head and was bleeding. The hospital staff told the police that the age of the accused would be around 16 or 17 years. As the firing was carried out without any fight, the police believe it to be a case of targeted killing, which is why the assailants may have come to investigate last night. The police are now checking the CCTV camera footage inside the hospital to identify the suspects.
