
A fire broke out in the Shapath-4 building on SG Highway on Monday morning after an air conditioner caught fire in a unit on the eighth floor. The incident triggered panic among people in the building, with several occupants rushing out for safety. Three fire brigade vehicles from the Bodakdev Fire Station reached the spot after receiving the alert and immediately began efforts to douse the flames.Officials said incidents of air-conditioner fires tend to increase during summer due to overheating. In this case, the fire is suspected to have started in an AC unit installed in an office on the eighth floor.Fire brought under control, no casualtiesFire officer Manubhai Solanki said the blaze was brought under control after continuous efforts by the fire department. Prima facie, the fire is believed to have been caused by overheating in the air conditioner.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. The fire department and local authorities are conducting further investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the fire.
