A fire broke out in the Shapath-4 building on SG Highway on Monday morning after an air conditioner caught fire in a unit on the eighth floor. The incident triggered panic among people in the building, with several occupants rushing out for safety. Three fire brigade vehicles from the Bodakdev Fire Station reached the spot after receiving the alert and immediately began efforts to douse the flames.Officials said incidents of air-conditioner fires tend to increase during summer due to overheating.
