The war between Iran and Israel in the Middle East has created a tense situation at the global stage. Due to airspace closures amid the conflict, many passengers from Gujarat were stranded in areas including Dubai.
These stranded travellers had appealed to the Indian government to bring them back home, following which arrangements were made to safely bring them back to India. Around 170 passengers arrived at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on a special flight early this morning.
Emotional scenes were witnessed at the airport as families reunited after their return.
Passengers who arrived shared their experiences, saying they had been stranded in Dubai for the past two days and that there was an atmosphere of fear due to the sounds of bombs and missile explosions. However, the passengers thanked the Indian government and authorities, stating that they received free facilities and full cooperation during the difficult time. Both the passengers and their families felt a great sense of relief after returning to their homeland. It is also worth noting that a day earlier, another flight carrying 210 passengers from Saudi Arabia had arrived in Ahmedabad
