
Bandhan Bank, under its CSR initiatives, has extended financial support to VIKAS Centre for Development to climatefriendly farming and restore coastal ecology in Gujarat. The CSR Grant was handed over by Mr. Subrata Dutta Gupta, Independent Director and Chairman of the CSR and Sustainability Committee of the Board, Bandhan Bank, and Mr. Partha Pratim Sengupta, MD & CEO, Bandhan Bank to Mr. Rajesh Shah, Managing Trustee, VIKAS Centre for Development in the presence of other senior officials from Bandhan Bank and VIKAS Centre for Development. Through this partnership, Bandhan Bank is supporting initiatives of large-scale mangrove plantation and ecological restoration to protect the coastline. Post Plantation, the Bank has been supporting to build ecotourism sites to promote local economies and connect youth with nature. The Bank has supported the communities to adopt sustainable farming and restore local agro-ecology. These interventions include solar-powered drip irrigation, Climate Smart Agriculture, and Agroforestry to improve soil health, water consumption efficiency and increase farm income. In addition, the Bank is also helping to diversify incomes through sustainable livelihoods and is promoting long-term financial inclusion through SHG-linkages and financial literacy initiatives.
