
Showcasing visual splendours of ‘God’s Own Country’ as a fascinating experiential destination, Kerala Tourism Department today opened itslandmark all-India Photo Exhibition Lenscape Kerala at Hutheesing Visual Arts Centrehere. Mallika Sarabhai inaugurated the exhibition, featuring100 curated frames by 10 leading travel and media photographers of the country.Ms Uma Nair led a walkthrough after the inauguration. A four-minute behind-the-scenevideo –Frame Within a Frame—was also screened at the inaugural function.More than spotlighting Kerala as a destination, the exhibition captures vivid images ofthe state’s landscape, culture and memory, as seen by the participating photographers.The show will run in the city till February 5, from 11 am to 8 pm.Speaking on the occasion Dr Mallika Sarabhai said the exhibition stands out as it displaysa set of fabulous photographs.“When you look at a photograph, what is it that draws you in? I think kinetic energy, lightand shade and three dimensionals. In dance photography, whether it’s static or whetherit’s about to move, if you can capture that feeling when it’s about to jump, I think thenyou have succeeded,” she said.In a message on the occasion, Kerala Tourism Minister Shri P A Mohamed Riyas said “Gujarat and Kerala have strong cultural and economic connections, and visitors from the western states constitute a major segment of tourists to the state,” Shri Riyas said.
