One person was killed and three others injured on Saturday when a speeding car jumped the central divider and collided with a Gujarat transport bus on Ahmedabad’s SG Highway.

As per preliminary information, the car was travelling from Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar when it jumped the divider and crashed head-on into an ST bus coming from the opposite direction. The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in the death of a young man at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Dhaval Vaghela (24), the son of I B Vaghela, former general secretary of the Gandhinagar district BJP. A 21-year-old woman, Devanshi Yogesh Pandya, who was also travelling in the car, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment. Her condition is reported to be critical.
