The Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Research Association (ATIRA) has commenced a Skill Development Program on Composite Material Testing at its Ahmedabad campus, marking the second program under ATIRA’s Skill Development Initiative. The initiative is aimed at building industry-ready capabilities in advanced materials and technical textiles, with a strong focus on testing, quality assurance, and performance validation.

The inaugural session witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries and senior leaders from industry, academia, and national institutions, underscoring strong industry confidence and endorsement of the program’s relevance. The program was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Neeraj Mathur, Group Director, Space Applications Centre (SAC), ISRO; Mr. Prashant Trivedi, Immediate Past Chairman, Indian Plastics Institute; Mr. Girish Haganoor, Senior General Manager, Tata AutoComp Systems; Shri Rahul Pathak, General Manager – Chassis, Commercial Vehicles, Tata Motors; Mr. Jitendra Trivedi, Founding Member and Governing Council Member, Composites Association of India; and Prof. Sunil Kale, Dean, School of Engineering and Applied Science, Ahmedabad University.

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries highlighted the critical role of rigorous testing, compliance, and validation as composite materials continue to see increased adoption across safety-critical sectors such as space, aerospace, defence, automotive, energy, and infrastructure. They emphasised that robust testing frameworks and skilled professionals are essential to ensuring safety, reliability, and adherence to global quality standards.
