Once again, the menace of anti-social elements has surfaced in the eastern part of Ahmedabad, triggering panic in a residential locality. In the Bapunagar area, a group of persons allegedly unleashed terror in a chawl over an old rivalry, assaulting a senior citizen, vandalising vehicles and issuing death threats, just days ahead of the Uttarayan festival. According to the police, the incident took place at Ramdevnagar chawl, located opposite Gajanand Estate in Bapunagar. A 60-year-old retired man, Ramkishor Vikramsingh Sikarwar, has lodged a complaint in this regard. He lives in the chawl with his family and is leading a retired life. As per the complaint, on Sunday evening, Ramkishor was standing near his house when a local resident, identified as Atul alias Bholu, along with three unidentified associates, allegedly attacked him. The accused reportedly beat the elderly man with fists and kicks, threw him to the ground and threatened to kill him, creating fear among residents.
