Gujarat Science City marked World Fisheries Day on 21st November with a day-long celebration aimed at raising awareness about the vital role of fisheries in food security, livelihoods, culture, and environmental sustainability. Observed globally, the day highlights the need for responsible fishing practices and the protection of aquatic ecosystems that sustain millions of lives. This year’s global theme, “We Have Not Caught Anything, But … Let Us Lower the Nets,” emphasizes resilience, hope, and collective responsibility toward sustainable fisheries. In alignment with this spirit, India’s national theme for 2025 — “India’s Blue Transformation: Strengthening Value Addition in Seafood Exports” — underscores a strategic push toward quality enhancement, advanced processing, traceability, and global competitiveness in seafood products. At Science City, the celebration carried this vision forward through a series of engaging activities designed to educate, involve, and inspire visitors.
