Gulbango’s bubble of being the top number in government education has been burst by the teachers who have settled abroad and have been absent for a long time. In such cases registered in Gandhinagar district, the education department has urged to take legal action by next Monday and submit the action taken report. In 16 out of 23 cases, the possibility of dismissal of the teachers is being looked at. The state government woke up from its Kumbhakarni slumber and ordered a state-wide inquiry after the scandal erupted over the teachers’ names appearing in the school notebooks despite long absences. Among the absentee teachers in the primary section in Gandhinagar district are 2 schools in Uwarasad village of Gandhinagar taluk, 2 schools in Tintoda village and schools in Adalaj, Butakia, Bapupura, Madhavgarh and Magodi. In Kalol taluka schools in Anandapura, Balwa, Ramnagar, Vagosana, Khatraj, Unali, Vansjada-K and Kantha villages. Apart from the teacher, the teachers of Boru and Bapuprani schools in Mansa taluka and Muwadani school of Amarajina in Dehgam taluka were involved. While the teacher of Pethapur school in Gandhinagar city and the teacher of Palundra village school in Dehgam and Delwada village school in Mansana were absent, official sources said. Now, in the case of foreign migration among these, the process of termination will be carried out.
