For the first time this season, the level of Sardar Sarovar dam has crossed 136 meters. As the rain continues in the upper reaches, the level of the Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam is increasing as the water inflow increases. So far, 3,47,891 cusecs of water has been collected from upriver. At present, a total of 3,17,014 cusecs of water is being released from Narmada river. On the evening of 13th September, the dam level reached 136.03 meters.
42 villages alerted:
15 gates of the dam have been opened up to 2.50 meters to maintain the water level while the water inflow from the upstream continues. On the other hand, 42 villages in Vadodara, Bharuch and Narmada districts have been alerted. It may be noted that the maximum level of Narmada Dam is 138.68 meters. The state has already received 124 percent of the season’s average rainfall. In which maximum rainfall has been recorded in Kutch zone 183 percent, Saurashtra zone 130 percent, South Gujarat zone 128 percent, East-Central Gujarat zone 120 percent and North Gujarat zone 107 percent.
