Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s investment adviser Salman F Rehman and former law minister Pradhan Anisul Haq were arrested while fleeing Dhaka’s Sadarghat. Most shockingly, they were roped up like criminals and charged with double murder within an hour.

The apex body of Hindus in Bangladesh said the minority Hindu community faced attacks and threats at 278 places in 48 districts after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government on August 5. The apex body called it an ‘attack on Hinduism’. Members of the Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance also pointed to the rise in attacks in recent days and said, ‘We too have rights in this country, we were born here.’ After Prime Minister Hasina left the country, the minority Hindu population faced several days of violence. Their houses and shops were burnt down. Their properties were destroyed.
