Mona Savalia, a farmer’s daughter from Samdhiyala, a small village in Junagadh district, has achieved a unique feat by scaling both Mount Kang Yatse-1 6401 m (19,203 ft) and Mount Kang Yatse-2 6250 m (18,750 ft) in Leh-Ladakh in 8 days. Mona Savalia says, ‘In 2022, I got an insight into mountaineering when I was studying in the final year of B.Sc Agriculture. The financial condition of the family was moderate, so before starting the preparation for mountain climbing, they talked about it to their parents. With my parents ready to support me, mountaineering became the main aim of my life.’
