In the case of theft of welding rod worth lakhs of rupees from a truck parked near Dumad Chowkdi, the district police have arrested three persons including a member of the Tadpatri gang of Godhra and started the process of arresting the main accused. The trader had ordered a large quantity of welding rod from Rajasthan. The truck loaded with welding rod came near Vadodara but parked near Dumad Chowk unable to enter the city due to heavy rain and water logging in Vadodara. Meanwhile, another truck was parked next to this truck late at night and the tarpaulin gang escaped after cutting the tarpaulin and stealing the welding rod worth Rs 4.10 lakh from inside. After a complaint was filed in the Manjusar Police Station, the police conducted an investigation in which it was found that some of the stolen goods were with a rickshaw driver, Imtiaz Shabbir Khan Sheikh. Later, the police detained Mukesh Thakkar and interrogated him. It was found that the packet for this road was given to Farooq Musabhai Charkha, a resident of Godhra. On the other hand, the police came to know that Umar Farooq, who has the MO to cut and steal tarpaulin, is going to appear in court at Matar in Kheda district, so a team of Manjusar police arrived at Matar and arrested Umar Farooq Musabhai Charkha (res. Goya Mohlo Godhra). Along with this, the police arrested Mukesh Vinodbhai Thakkar (resides Man Mandir Complex RV Desai Road) as well as Farooq Charkha and Abdul Wahab Musabhai Charkha (resides Gaya Mahalo Godhra). A police investigation revealed that nine cases of theft have been registered against Umar Farooq and three cases against Abdul Wahab at various police stations in the state. While a crime has been registered against scrap dealer Mukesh Thakkar at Nalasopara in Maharashtra.
