Ayodhya: Changes made in Ram temple, ban on carrying mobile phones

According to the officials of the Ram Mandir Trust, the dress of the priests of the Ramlala temple has been changed and they have been banned from carrying mobile phones inside the temple. Till now the priests in the sanctum sanctorum were seen in saffron clothes. He used to wear saffron turban, saffron kurta and dhoti but now the priests have started wearing yellow dhoti along with that color kurta and turban.


According to temple officials, the new dress code has come into effect from July 1. New priests are trained to wear yellow turbans. This kurta does not have buttons and a thread is used to tie it. A yellow dhoti, a piece of cotton cloth, is tied around the waist and covers up to the ankles. It is worth mentioning that there is a main priest along with four assistant priests in the Ram temple. Five trainee priests are also kept along with each assistant priest. Each team of these priests renders their services in five-hour shifts between 3.30 am and 11 pm. Priests are also prohibited from carrying mobile phones inside the temple.
